"Hi Paul, no worries about the spammers, it is very human to take shortcuts (I took Anthropology, Toronto was a culturally diverse place to grow up and the daily commute to school had me on the street car, then subway and finally bus. Many cultural…"

"Hi Geoff: Thanks for the post and sorry about the strange message. It was sent by a new member who joined just to spam people. We thought it was a personal friend of ours, but it was not as we found out through your message. She is gone now.…"

Not enough detail for me...

Hi all, I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone had posted a reply to my blog on this site, but when I went to view it, well it turned out to be uselessly vague, had no questions related to my description and the poster had no website listed on their profile yet their post included a email address @live.com which appears to be a free microsoft email. And yet something "important" to tell/share with me. Happy to share what I know with anyone who actually reads my description and shares an…See More

"Hi Geoff: Welcome to our little thing.  Nice to hear of your Alpacas and PAHS. Ours is working out very well and we'll even be making a very simple PAHS when we build our next earthbag greenhouse. I believe the combination should enable us…"

Hi, we are north of Belleville, Ontario, Canada. As far as a South American connection, it is limited to our two alpacas. I am hoping to find a carding machine so the fleece can be worked into a couple ponchos for my boys. My PDC "Going Deeper" project last fall was the addition of a thermal mass "handle" to a conventional house. Simple, low-tech et al like a standard PAHS implementation and meant to maintain all that but within the effective constraints of a retrofit.
My regards, I feel your demonstrated path is an inspirational one, the view from your home is delightful. Thank you for sharing your example of a properly designed house. Do you think it will be long before it is the norm for a house to be considered good only when it can warm itself?

Hi Geoff: Welcome to our little thing.  Nice to hear of your Alpacas and PAHS. Ours is working out very well and we'll even be making a very simple PAHS when we build our next earthbag greenhouse. I believe the combination should enable us to even grow Bananas!

It would be nice to see more homes that store energy rather than just consume it. Othe people are following our example here in Chile, but not so many that I can say that the world of building is changing.

If you have any information you want to share on your home and project please feel free to put it up here.

Go well
