Before she left Manimi created a map of La Junta featuring places of interest, accomodation, stores, internet cafe and cartoon illustrations of some of the people we have come to know. It's in Japanese and should come in handy for our guests from Japan. Soon we'll have one in English - at the moment maps and information of La Junta only come in Spanish - perhaps the local tourist board will be interested in distributing them to english…

It's been three months since we came to Chile, so in mid January we traveled to Argentina over on the other side of the Andes to get another three month tourist visa. We are going to apply for a permanent visa once we get our house built, but until then it is necessary to renew our visa every three months.
