BUILT A ROAD TO OUR LAND



My philosophy is just do it and not wait for others who say they will do it for you, for a price or otherwise. With this in mind I have been reluctant to use machinery to dig the road to our land. I can't operate a backhoe and there are only a few in the district, nevertheless people tried to find a man and machine to do the work.

"Be there next week" one man said... when he didn't materialize another man said, "I know someone who can do it soon'. Well…

JUST FOR FUN: DOES ANYONE OUTSIDE OF CHILE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS IS?

We encountered this on our land a couple of weeks ago. It was very useful. Those who get the right answer get to stay with us `gratis` for a week or so - airfare, travel expenses not included - but good Chilean wine and homemade food is.

EARTHQUAKE ROCKS CHILE BUT NOT LA JUNTA, PATAGONIA WHERE A LOCAL TRAGEDY BRINGS LIFE INTO PERSPECTIVE

The first we heard of the massive earthquake that hit Chile two days ago was through messages of concern from friends in Japan. People in La Junta did not feel anything, yet the quake was felt as far away as Sao Paolo, Brazil - I guess we must be on a different fault line.
