Our Little Thing - Creating A Sustainable Lifestyle In Patagonia

Creación de un estilo de vida sostenible en Patagonia パタゴニアでサステイナブルな暮らし作り

Yesterday we visited our friend Cristiano Giordani's land, with our next door neighbours and their dogs. He has the hilltop next door, which is where everyone stood for this photo. From there I also took this photo of our home and garden area.

In the upper middle you will see an area dug out of the hill... that's to be our guest house, made of earthbags... a project for later this year. To the right is the first thing we built, an earthbag walled greenhouse.

Going up the hill you will see a pile of white bags... filled with earth and an excavation. The excavation is for a new greenhouse and adjoining pond, plus two new terraces. This is our latest project begun last week and moving along quite nicely.

Further up you will see a turf wall, which has recently been planted with fruit trees and flowers and then pond, used to supply the large greenhouse nearby and as a duck pond, once the ducks arrive later this year.

To the rear of the house you can see the sun room, a very useful addition that has not yet been completely finished. This side of the house you can see the extensive terraced vegetable gardens that are just now being seeded and planted. Spring is on it's way.
