Our Little Thing - Creating A Sustainable Lifestyle In Patagonia

Creación de un estilo de vida sostenible en Patagonia パタゴニアでサステイナブルな暮らし作り

Konomi with the first handful of Raspberries picked from our freshly created garden - not many yet, as we're busy and the birds are beating us to the bushes. But we are enjoying lots of basil and various greens which are growing on the polytunnel. Meanwhile I am creating terraces while covering the retaining walls for the turf we've piled around the house - these will eventually become out house food garden and should look very pretty. Konomi loves gardening and can hardly wait to spend more time with the plants.

Hi Paul and Konomi, perhaps you remember me as the dutch guy who guessed your pile driver as such. The fact that you are making terraces around your beautiful house means you are settling for Patagonia? Smashing country side to live though. Does it mean you both stopped planting trees or you coordinate from there. We got at last a piece of ground to build our little dreamhouse, Maud's twinsister lives in Sicilia with a few on the Etna (really gorgious plot) where we can have a small bit of their land to build on. It will more than likely be a kind of hybrid: strawbale at the back and sides and cordwood ala Tony Wrench as infill around the windows and doors. Hope to have it finished in 2 years time, we're both still working and not getting any younger. We'll send you some pics after we'd started. Stay well you two there far away. Warm regards, Maud and Jan Zandvoort.
